Eagles Rehabilitated and Ready to Fly at Park

The Jakarta Post, Bogor. Conservationists and forest rangers officially opened a eagle conservation center at Gunung Halimun Salak National Park on Tuesday.
As many as 12 eagles, previously treated at the Center of Animal Conservation in Cikananga, Sukabumi, were transferred to the park in Bogor. Two men supervised the construction of a cage in Halimun Salak Mountain National Park (TNHS) in Bogor regency on Thursday.
The park is building an eagle sanctuary in Salak Mountain Resort 1 in Loji village.
Ade Mamat, head of TNHS' public relations office, said the sanctuary would be used for eagle rehabilitation and as a conservation education center.
The sanctuary is the result of cooperation among TNHS, the Indonesian Information and Environment Center (PILI), Chevron Geothermal Indonesia, Raptor Indonesia, Gede Pangrango Mountain National Park (TNGP) and International Animal Rescue.
